Just a few quick snaps from my wander around Paris the other week with my wife. The food was great as always. The traffic, not so much.
The past week I took my family on the long drive to the coast of Devon to a little place called Woolacombe. All I can say is “wow”… It’s definitely one of my top idyllic seaside towns in the UK.
Large clean Blue Flag beach, soft powdery sands and enough waves to make it a surfers/boogie boarders paradise. To top it off the locals and fellow tourists were just lovely themselves!
My last evening on the beach I made a barbeque where we roasted sausages and pasties on the fire… Yes, I did say pasties. Ok, so I probably mean ‘warm’ pasties on the open fire but you get what I mean right?;). Delicious.
Where’s your favourite local vacation beach?
This is one of the strobist shots I did a while back for a wedding shoot opposite London City Airport. It was supposed to be done on the veranda of the chinese restaurant but the restaurant owner had a last minute change of heart and told us we couldn’t use it. *boo*
While it looks like a simple shot, it’s hard to get a light reading when you’re freezing your *ss off because of the wind chill. Plus I actually needed three assistants to help with setup and keep the equipment from being blown away in the gale.
Lesson learnt. Weather forecasts lie.
So last Saturday despite the wind and rain I managed to do a quick pre-wedding photo shoot for Keenan and Fiona. Despite everyone being so cold and wet, it all turned out pretty well! *phew*
This was also the first time I’ve used my new Samyang 35mm in the field which I love so much. I’ll post another article this week about the lens and how it performs.
